The Chicago Tribune attends the premiere of a major new jazz composition by Ernest Dawkins called "UnTill Emmett Till". This work, which debuted at Chicago's Velvet Lounge nightclub, is based on the death of Chicagoan Emmett Till, who was killed after allegedly whistling at a white woman in Mississippi in 1955.
